The Triangle.
The Triangle's music scene is split across Raleigh, Durham, and Carrboro, but the Rager Raleigh feed covers the broader regional list since most touring acts work all three cities in the same week. The Pour House Music Hall downtown is the longest-running jam-and-roots club in the region; Lincoln Theatre next door handles the larger touring acts in a 1,100-cap room. Kings on Martin Street is the indie and DIY anchor, with a back-to-back booking calendar most nights.
Carrboro's Cat's Cradle — technically just outside Raleigh but always part of the Triangle's circuit — is the legendary indie room that's hosted touring alternative rock, college-radio indie, and ascending Americana acts for forty-plus years. Motorco Music Hall in Durham covers indie, hip-hop, and electronic. The Ritz handles the larger touring acts; Red Hat Amphitheater is the downtown outdoor shed for summer arena-tier shows. Neptune's Parlour and The Pinhook fill in the small-club, queer-friendly DIY tier.
The Triangle's sound is shaped by the three universities — NC State, Duke, UNC — and the regional college-radio history: indie, post-punk, Americana, and a strong DIY ethos. Touring booking density is high because the venues compete for the same regional acts; you'll often see the same band play Cat's Cradle, the Pour House, and Lincoln Theatre across one tour. The Raleigh feed on Rager pulls the cross-Triangle slate so you can pick the venue that fits your night.
